Warfarin is the most widely prescribed oral anticoagulant for thromboembolic therapy in North America and Europe. Warfarin therapy associated hemorrhage is one of the leading causes of drug related adverse events, including death, in many Western countries. The combination of CYP2C9*2, CYP2C9*3 and VKORC1 genotypes has proved to be effective at helping to determine the appropriate doses of Warfarin.*
